A few weeks ago one very cold morning as I was turning into my work parking lot, I notice a men trying to open the front door of the Chancery. He sure looked like a ? Wichita Police officer. I wondered what was going on. I rushed toward the Cathedral to attend Mass at 8:00 a.m.

As I walked into the Cathedral foyer I noticed the same man across the lobby and asked "May I help you?" thinking...I certainly should ask, after all he's a police officer. It took only a few seconds as he came closer..he was not an officer. He was a small man dressed in khaki colored jacket and slacks. He answered "yes....I need help......................" I did try to help him and listened closely to his problems. Because I wasn't wearing my eye glasses this has helped me with an important insight. I have asked myself would I have offered to help this man if I knew that he wasn't a Police Officer? I am grateful for this insight, literally without my glasses being worn that morning. I listened to this person's problems with my heart and prayed for him that morning. We never really know another person's experiences (the shoes they are walking) unless they open up and share honestly. I ask God to please help me to continue to help me see with the eyes of my heart.

2nd message in a bottle

A message in a bottles are intriging to me. I sent one of a shore in Michigan a couple of weeks ago....

The movie 'Message in a Bottle' I thoroughly enjoyed! I love how words from the heart and mind can fall and can be recreated in letters on paper....messages about God's love and Scripture into a bottle and dropping them into the sea for someone to discover.

Just a few weeks ago I prepared my 2nd message in a bottle and I'm just sure someone found the message in a bottle on the shore because the bottle bottomed out as I gave it a little push into the waves. The Lake Huron is mostly 'very rocky shoreline' and I didn't plan for the bottle to break! Yikes, I did catch it just in time and placed it onto the dry shore line.

My message includes a little sharing about Mother Mary 'The First Disciple' and I always include a miraculous medal. I record the messages in my travel journal. because some day...I will read them and ponder. Just recently I was delighted to learn from a good friend about another message that a family wrote which was discovered and savored for the love and care it was filled with. That is so cool! As I write, I pray for the Holy Spirit to guide me to 'enlighten someone with faith' and then I pray for the person...the finder...that God will touch them is His special way. It's about 'Hope' 'expecting something good to happen' even if only in a very small way bringing a smile or a feeling of the excitement of surprise. So some the whole concept may just be too silly...not me though....

Communicating with words has always always been important to me and I've through the years I have discovered some very interesting ways to do so. The invitations to our 'Farm House Warming Party' over 24 years ago were written on beautiful huge colorful sycamore leaves! It was fall and they were so pretty. I tied red strings onto them and both hand delivered and mail them to friends. I just love autumn leaves and these were right here from our farm. You may be wondering farm...animals...rows of planted corn and such? Well, we have had animals and gardens over the years but no...we're not an operating professional farm. We just love the country life and all the blessings with it. Our favorite...the quiet nature of wild animals, sun rises and sets, surrounding farm fields, wild flowers, huge cottonwood trees and the wonderful Kansas winds...which have over my years of life remind me of the Wonderful Holy Spirit, the Third person of the Trinity, not visible to the human eye only touch.
